Innovation Stages - where do you sit?
TYPE 1
Nascent
The start of your innovation journey. You focus should concentrate on building momentum, aligning around a vision and defining a strategy to get there.
Nascent: only recently formed or started, but likely to grow larger quickly (Cambridge English Dictionary).
TYPE 2
Emergent
Innovation is gaining traction, with some initial things in place. At this stage there is still work to do to socialise and embed it across your organisation.
TYPE 3
Established
Innovation has become an established important part of your organisation. However, even at this stage further work is needed to fully embed it and make it your own.
TYPE 4
Elevated
Innovation is quite advanced in your organisation and you are likely to already be reaping the rewards. There are some areas where innovation is lagging and learning from previous successes can be optimised.
TYPE 5
Advanced
Innovation is part of your DNA and you are achieving success. You are on a path to sustainable growth and now is the time to maintain momentum. A focus on maintaining structure and culture is essential.
What is the WAVE ASSESS TOOL?
WAVE Assess is a self assessment tool for driven leaders. It has been designed to help you understand the state of innovation in your organisation. The tool will identify opportunities where you can grow your innovation capabilities.
How does the assessment work?
The tool has been created as a series of approximately 40 questions which should take around 15 minutes to 20 minutes to complete, depending on your level of consideration for each question. The assessment looks at the following key drivers of innovation across your organisation, determined through industry and academic research: Activating Innovation, Enabling innovation, Making market impact.
Who should complete the assessment?
The assessment has been designed to be completed by driven leaders focussed on the growth of their organisation. These include business owners, CEOs and c-suite executives, heads of departments or teams that focus on growth, or even individuals who are passionate about understanding the health of their place of work.
What are innovation capabilities?
To be innovative, businesses need to have the right structures in place. These structures, also known as capabilities, can be grouped into three categories: infrastructure, leadership, and culture.
What will I get out of it?
Once you complete the assessment you will receive a short report with a high level picture of how well your organisation is engaged in innovation, what this means for your organisation, plus some actionable next steps to consider.
